Working as a Fight Director and teacher for over 30 years, with over 100 Fight Director credits for theatre and opera, including Tangle, Shakespeare’s Globe, Cheek By Jowl, The Chichester Festival Theatre, Mischief Theatre
As a teacher at Guildhall, LAMDA, Rutgers University, The Drama Studio, Arts Ed, London Academy of Theatre, School of the Science of Acting he has taught many thousands of their students
Teaching many courses in Mexico and Italy including the Centro Universitario de Teatro, University of Mexico, & Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica in Italy. Helping in developing the practise of combat in both countries and instrumental in the founding of the Escuela Mexicana de Combate Escénico, the first such organisation in Mexico
He has trained a number of fight teachers/directors from Mexico and Italy as well as Britain, the USA, Canada, Spain and South Korea.
Film and television drama & documentaries, including the BBC, The History Channel, even puppeteers for The Dark Crystal; and commercials, Including Strongbow utilising his skills as an Archer.
Researching human Conflict Communication, as cultural context, across different societies and time periods; including fighting and riding in different armours and historical clothing. He has researched and taught the historical martial arts of Europe, in the UK, the US and across Europe, worked with The Mary Rose Trust, The Royal Armouries Museums he represented them at Nikko Toshugo Shrine in Japan. And had articles and research published.
Studying the psychology and physiology of movement generally and in conflict more specifically, working to bring these threads into his practice and work he does as an educator and creative.
This will be his 3rd time working with Tangle.
